GUADALAJARA TO RENO
Volaris Airlines as the Mexican carrier successfully landed its first direct flight from Mexico to Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The low-cost carrier also continues to add new routes to its offerings including another Nevada connection – a recently introduced Las Vegas-Cancun flight. The company also has 61 new planes on order for the next six years.
Flight schedules are announced as follows:
Guadalajara, Jalisco – Reno, Nevada (Tuesdays and Fridays)
-Departing Guadalajara, Jalisco at 11:30 hrs., arriving Reno, Nevada at 13:50 hrs
-Departing Reno, Nevada at 15:20 hrs., arriving Guadalajara, Jalisco at 20:55 hrs
LONDON TO RENO
In 2015, The Reno Tahoe Airport will have the first-ever non-stop service between Reno and London’s Gatwick Airport by Thomas Cook Airlines. Thomas Cook is partnering with Ski Lake Tahoe for the flights, which will run Wednesdays and Saturdays from Dec. 19, 2015 to April 9, 2016.
NEW YORK TO RENO
Starting end of May 28, 2015, JetBlue will offer non stop flights from JFK, New York to Reno Tahoe International Airport. JetBlue will employ a twin-engine Airbus A320 jetliner to depart JFK at 7:40 p.m., arriving in Reno at 11:07 p.m., and then departing for the return to New York at 11:59 p.m. Reno time and arriving in New York at 8:09 a.m.
According to JetBlue officials typical roundtrip coast-to-coast costs at present can top $900, however, they envision JetBlue fares to be as low as the $450 range. Their spokesman also added that unlike Southwest’s practice of open seating, JetBlue offers reserved seating, and customers booking flights now will have their first bag free of charge. JetBlue has announced a new fare structure for baggage but no details have yet been detailed.
